Interview With Stefan Abt

40 years old Stefan Abt is now living in Bitburg (Eifel) with her wife Christina who is going to have a sun in two weeks time. The rider is now a private trainer for a family and he is also riding in competitions. His first arrival to Turkey was 2,5 years ago when he started to work with Sevil Sabancı. During his time in Turkey, he aslo competed for SIEC Team. In the summer of 2005, he won the final of Istanbul International Horse Show with "S.I.E.C. Kinando". In addition to that, he was the winner of Deka Cup in the same year. Stefan started his riding career at the age of 16 and he continued his professional life as a trainer and a rider. He aslo attended many clinics in many countries.

When he compared his first impression and his last visit to Turkey, he obsorved an outstanding improvement in Turkis equestrian sport. He stated that the demand in this sport has increased a lot. However; to take a further step he markes the importance of publicity. Moreover, he emphasizes the necessity of the Pony Clubs.

Stefan has been working with experienced riders and horses in his clinics in Turkey and he found these clinics beneficial. He stated that, clinics for the basic level riders are important in order them to have the correct position of hands, legs and a balanced sitting. Because, it is easier to correct the mistakes of the riders than in the other levels.

When he is asked for his opinion about S International Equestrian Center, he stated that, SIEC is one of the top facilities when it is compared with the similiar riding clubs in Europe, in terms of its Uniqueness for being a private at the same time a riding club that welcomes riders and horses for training from other regions, so that, it is difficult to compare SIEC with other riding clubs all around the world. In addition, with its trainers, riders, horses, management policy, and oficiers, as a whole, SIEC presents one of the best examples in the world.

Stefan Abt hopes to be in equestrian sports as much as his health enables him to. Lastly he stated that he is so happy to be back in SIEC again. He said that it was a great opportunity to meet with the old friends and he is looking forward to come back again if he is asked the next time.
