Riding Sevil Sabanci's ten year-old dark bay stallion 'SIEC Royal Star', the Irish rider broke the beam fractions of a second ahead of Belgium's Ludo Philippaerts in the 1m50 class, which was run over ditches and banks, to collect the winner's purse of 7,000 euro.

Hanley, who rides out of the Turkish S-Equestrian Stables, had a second place with the stallion at Aachen on Thursday, again in a hunting competition over natural obstacles.
