Mayo-born Hanley was one of just six through to the jump-off, with Sevil Sabanci's 'SIEC Royal Star', but collected four faults second time out.

Hanley is a member of the Irish team who will compete in the Canadian Nations' Cup on Saturday, and he is joined at Spruce Meadows by Edward Doyle, Cian O’Connor and Niall Talbot, along with Irish Team Manager Robert Splaine.

Just ahead of Hanley in fifth place yesterday was Harry and Mollie Chapman's Irish-bred gelding 'McGuinness', ridden by the USA's Rich Fellers. The class was won by Italy's Piergiorgio Bucci.
